HISTORY: THE MILESTONES

COVERCO's homeland is a region where there is plenty of water and where the inhabitants have a long tradition of entrepreneurial spirit and a keen aptitude towards international trade. Perhaps these factors inspired COVERCO's founders to set up a company specialised in the design, manufacturing and marketing of induction electric motors whose main application is the driving of water pumps.

The company was established in 1972 as a small Italian family-owned business under the name COME - which stands for Oderzo Electric Motors Construction - as at the outset the enterprise was housed in the cellar of a private building which was located near the small town of Oderzo.

Soon the company began to expand its business across the national boundaries, where it had to fulfil progressively more demanding market requirements and to face increasingly tough competition.

Until 1980 the company product range was limited to TEFV (Total Enclosed Fan Ventilated) motors and rotor-stator sets. In the early 1980s, the company, then named COVERCO, entered the submersible motor market, which quickly became its mainstay business. All these challenges have been taken on enthusiastically by COVERCO's founders, management and staff, all dynamic and resourceful people who have always been successful in a extremely competitive international market.

Nowadays COVERCO is world-famous as a well-established motor producer in the electric motor industry, especially in the electric submersible motor business segment. The company premises include modern plant and office facilities which cover an area of approximately 9,000 sqm. with a modern and capable warehouse always ready for prompt shipments to all destinations in the world.

In 2002, in order to keep pace with the ongoing changes of globalisation, COVERCO decided to became part of FRANKLIN ELECTRIC Inc., the world leading manufacturer of electric submersible motors. Being part of a multinational corporation enables the company to benefit from huge financial resources and entails sharing sophisticated competences in management, procurement, research, design and engineering (benchmark for best practices). The access to such resources and knowledge is a key competitive advantage in a globalised marketplace.

In 2002 COVERCO also organised and hosted the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of its foundation. This milestone was commemorated with an unforgettable three-day event which was attended by nearly a hundred professionals, mostly from the international pump industry, who greatly enjoyed meeting and exchanging views in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

To maintain its competitiveness in the world of submersible motors and pumps, in 2005 COVERCO shared with FRANKLIN GmbH a common production base in Europe - Czech Republic.

In 2009 COVERCO is still an undoubtful leader in the market of 4'' and 6'' oil-filled motors. A loyal and skillful partner ideal for any customer's need to have the smartest service and support in the world of submersibles.
